“Singing is easier than acting”: Rajesh Krishna


 

Playback singer Rajesh Krishna has sung over of over 2000 songs in Kannada, Telugu, Malayalam and Tamil in 900 films in 13 years.

Excerpts of an interview:He spoke exclusively to Sify.com on the sets of Santosha at Abbainaidu studio and confesses that singing is easier than acting.

Why have you changed tracks to acting?
I want to take up social service in my life. As a singer my name is popular but not my face. So I want more popularity so that I can venture more into social work.

Are you still undergoing training in singing?
I am learning Hindustani and Carnatic music. I admire K.J.Yesudas and you know that to sing the Kanakangi raga Yesudasji had done a research for six years.

How many awards have you won?
I am the winner of Nandi award for Ninne Pelladatha in Telugu. I have also bagged three Karnataka state awards for Ekangi,Bannada Hejje and Dhumbi besides getting film fans award.

Any song that is close to your heart?
Onde Usirali.., breathless song with Chitraji for the film Snehaloka in Kannada.
